London Colocation

We highly recommend using our primary colocation providerCoreix Limited directly for Managed Dedicated Servers and London Colocation Facilities

Coreix operate on the second floor of VSNL's (formerly Tyco) Stratford Datacentre. The VSNL Stratford facility also houses other popular ISP's such as C4L and ServerCity on other floors. Coreix also have known customers including Barclays Banks as other well known hosting companies as well as Weycrest.Com.

Coreix Infrastucture

Coreix boast good 24/7 support and rapid response time. Their Network operates in a 14,000 sq.ft raised floored state-of-the-art data centre which offers complete redundancy in protected power, HVAC, fire suppression, network connectivity and on-site manned security.

Coreix's core network architecture utilises high quality equipment from Juniper, Foundry and Cisco, which is setup in a fully redundant mesh it allows us to offer high availability and exceptional throughput to our end users.

ATX or Tower Colocation

One advantage of using Coreix is that they can provide ATX or Tower Server Colocation on their "breadracks." Its no longer mentioned on their website, but give their sales/support a call anywau. Mounting non rack optimised kit would be difficult or prohibitively expensive in any other data centre such as Redbus. Tower servers generally have better cooling than rack optimized equipment (as well as being cheaper of course).

Redbus Harbour Exchange

When capacity is available again, your server will be housed in our secure data rack at our London Data Centre (Harbour Exchange). We don't own this data centre but rent these facilities from Redbus on the eighth floor of Harbour Exchange. All Redbus datacentre's boast redundant power supplies, redundant network feeds, FM200 fire suppression, redundant air conditioning - all the industry standard data centre facilities. All servers are connected to our network via a 100 Mbit/s port switch. We have an excellent multihomed connection supplied via a number of Tier One providers.

Trinity Buoy Server Housing

Larger equipment or servers using desktop or tower cases we cannot be accomodated at Redbus, but this equipment can be accomodated on shelving at our Trinity Buoy Wharf NOC for a standard charge of £20 per month to include a UPS port and 10GB per month of transfer.

Due to excellent line of site across the River Thames we currently have a secure 2Mbit/s microwave link between Trinity Buoy and Redbus Sovereign House (shortly to be upgraded to 10 Mbit/s). Reliability of the wireless link is excellent and is comparable with a leased line. The radio link provider (awellconnected.com) is supplying a service better than the SLA agreed figure. During 2005 we intend to add a backup radio link or landline in addition to our current wireless and ADSL connectivity.

This network is especially useful for providing backup or tertiary mail or DNS services as it exists on a different subnet to our main networks and is sufficiently fast to enable some overnight "off site" backups to be carried out. Indeed the link was originally financed and setup for Simply.Com in order to backup critical DNS and domain forwarding information.

Trinity Buoy is located a few moments car drive from Telehouse or Global Switch in East India Dock. The Redbus data centres are slightly further away on the Isle of Dogs peninsular but only about 5 minutes drive away depending on prevailing traffic conditions as the area is close to the Blackwall Tunnel. There is parking at Trinity Buoy and we currently have spare studio or "deskspace" with excellent views of the Millenium Dome and the River Thames for the accomodation of NOC engineers, server technicians or web designers. Payment Terms

All prices exclude VAT at 17.5%. All colocation payments are to be made on a quarterly basis, so we would initially require three months in advance. Customers paying annually will receive an additional discount of equivalent to one months rack rental.

Additional Rack Space

Rack space in Harbour Exchange can be increased for an additional £25 per additional 'U'. Each additional 'U' entitles you to 0.25A more power and a further switch port. If you need more than a few 'U' extra, please get in touch and we'll calculate a custom price, based on likely power and switch useage. The price to co-locate one 4U server will be lower than 4 x 1U servers.

Nagios Server Monitoring

£10 per month per server and all common port ie HTTP, SMTP, POP, DNS, FTP etc, with a one-off setup charge of £10. Setup is waived if ordered at thetime as the colocation installation. Further customisation of the Nagios web interface can be carried to include your corporate logo etc.. Notification can be via email or SMS. For SMS services we recommend sms2email.

Free Technical Support

Basic support for free. This includes basic support queries and occasional reboots during office hours. Most clients are reasonably self-sufficient. However, should you require a greater level of support on an on-going basis. We can quote for a package with guaranteed response times etc.

Server Management (advanced technical support)

Weycrest provide a complete managed server service. We have over five years experience in this area having worked at a senior level for one of the most popular Hosting Service Providers and Domain Name Registrars. This can include system maintenance, patching or upgrading software. Customizing and compiling software and building specialised RPM files. Our main field of expertise is in the maintenance and security of Linux based dedicated servers. We can arrange for one of our Linux technically-trained staff to attend your dedicated server (either accompanied, or on a remote-hands basis) is charged at the following rates:

• Office Hours - £45 per callout, including the first 60 minutes. Each additional 60 minutes is charged at £35.
• Outside of the hours - £95 for the callout and first 60 minutes, and £75 for each additional 60 minutes.
• A monthly contract could be considered where longer term or more permanent system administration is required.

Office hours are 9.00am-5.30pm GMT Mon-Fri (excluding bank holidays). Within the above rates, we are able to perform more complex tasks such as the installation of software, configuration of your server and more advanced troubleshooting. As mentioned above we are based extremely close to the major Docklands data centre's.
