Nominet, the UK Domain Registry  are running an extensive campaign to remind people to renew their “co.uk” domains names.  Research has shown that this is often overlooked until the last minute and loosing your domain name can be costly, if your business brand and email relies upon it.

Renew Your UK Domain

Nominet statistic reveals that 14 per cent of companies didn’t renew their “brand name” until the day after renewal is due. Think no one will be interested in your domain name? Think again.  Statistics show that 15% of non-renewed domain names are re-registered by someone else within one day.  Astonishingly 7.5% are re-registered within 10 seconds. Of course these figures are for UK domains. I know from experience that the .com domains are more likely to be re-registered by someone else, but its still worth appreciating the value of your UK domain.
