Dell Vostro 1520

Dell Vostro 1520

Review 1:

Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, business

Tech specs: Intel Core 2 Duo T6670 2.2Ghz, 250GB Hard drive, 3GB RAM. Purchased Vostro 1520 to replace Inspiron 6400. Main reason I went with Vostro was ability to downgrade to XP as heard negative feedback about Windows Vista. This is a competitively priced and well put together machine. Simple but effective with none of unnecessary add ons just a solid workhorse. Like anti-glare screen and love the black finish and area surrounding keyboard doesn’t need constant cleaning like other glossy/silver finished machines. Lighter than my previous Inspirion and 6 cell battery good for 2.5-3hrs.

Left palm rest does get warm but not a problem and not to the uncomfortable levels some have written about in previous reviews. If I did have one criticism it would be that keyboard is way too springy for my liking. Overall an excellent laptop and recommended.

Review 2:

Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, music, movies n videos, advanced softwares for designing, college worktech specs : Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4 Ghz 3MB L2 Cache 1066MHz FSB , 2 Gb RAM , 250 Gb HDD (7200 Rpm)with basic features (webcam, bluetooth module)and windows vista business – 32bit..well i received my laptop yesterday and i m quite happy with the performance .i used a toshiba satellite earlier. its a decent looking laptop with great value for money. As it is a business end laptop i knew i wont be getting powerful speakers but i was looking for performance this time,n vostro 1520 has certainly provided that.about the heat issue….i think its the wireless card that gets a bit warm but it is not a major issue.its under control…it has a decent webcam n a good enough battery backup of around 2.5-3 hrs…i think one can seriously consider buying this laptop…!!
