Yahoo Search Engine Marketing are currently offering a £60 advertising credit. This is great way for you to try out advertising your website, products and services on the Yahoo Search Engine. The promo code is GB0308 and the website can be found at:

£60 Yahoo Advertising Credit

You can even signup by phone by going at 0845 330 5074

Please note many web hosts offer free search engine advertising vouchers, but there are always offers around which you don’t need to sign up for hosting to get.

We recommend Yahoo as there are some bargain “clicks” and “keyphrases” to be had relative to Google Adwords rates. There are lot of people “paying through the nose” at the moment, to be at the “top of Google.”

“Type-in traffic” describes visitors landing arriving at a particular web site by entering a word or phrases in their web browsers navigation bar just adding .com or increasingly a co.uk (any top level extension).

This is rather than following a hyperlink from another website or for example by searching for a link using a search engine.

Domainers register domains based on popular generic terms (and sometimes trademarked and copyrighted terms) in order to earn income from “type in traffic.”

Quite often the target website will have a lot of PPC (pay per click) links from advertises targetted towards the domain name, and the domainer will get paid if the visitor clicks through on any of the links.

.com domains have been the most popular domains to use for this because until recently if a visitor omitted the domain extension in the navigation bar, most browsers would automatically add this gTLD.

Ans. Domain Parking put simply, is the concept of purchasing domain names without creating a web site for them. Here the domain registrar (such as Weycrest) reserves the name for you and simply creates a one page holder web site for you.

Why would you want to park a domain name?

1. Future Website Project- You have a great idea for a domain names but haven’t got round to creating a web site. Since good domain names are being snapped up like crazy, it’s often a good idea to purchase them as soon as you can (in any case domains compared to other web hosting, web design and other marketing expenses domain names are relatively inexpensive).

2. Unfinished Website - You are working on a website, but don’t want the general public to see the unfinished result.

3. Email Hosting - You acquired the domain name, purely to use for email purposes only and have no intention of building a website for it.

4. Domain Name Speculation -You have a good idea for a domain which you hope to “sell” for a profit later on.

5. Domain Name Monetization -With the advent of Pay Per Click (PPC) people buy web domain names, purely to park and earn money from passing “click thru” traffic.

This happens when people type (or mistype) domains into the navigation bar of their browser. Some search terms pay a lot of money per click.

For example credit card and web hosting related search terms can pay a lot of money per click. In some cases you can recoup the cost of the domain name registration very quickly, as the cost of domains is low relative to PPC rates.

A good company we recommend for providing a range of services to help you make money from domain names (and who can payout by Paypal) is Namedrive

Someone recently sent us a link to a little known Microsoft web page offering $200 worth of free clicks from MSN AdCenter provided you sign up between now and January 15, 2007. It costs $5 to get an account. This allows you to promote your website by advertising on MSN search engine.
$200 Free MSN Ad Offer Page

Unfortuneatly, according to MSN’s Terms and Conditions, this is only available to US Residents. Feel free to pass this around. Quite a few others have already blogged about this very generous offer. However this offer, using discount coupon DM-2-1106 ends 15th January 2007 so hurry!

However if you are not quite ready we have found another MSN Adcenter offer giving away $100 dollars of free clicks away using discount coupon BNR-100-1206

$100 Free MSN Ad Offer Page

Hopefully MSN will create an offer for UK Residents eventually.
